CAR STORAGE NEAR WINCHESTER 01962 279 212
According to the original factory record this Sunbeam Mk3 was first sold on 9th May 1956 via Ebdons Automobiles the Rootes dealership in Cheltenham. Here it is now reluctantly up for sale due to the problem of “too many cars and not enough time to drive them all”. It is fair to say that good quality Sunbeams like this one rarely come up for sale and with only 6 former keepers in it’s 64 year history that would seem to be very true of this particular one.
Let us not forget that it was the Sunbeam 90 Mk2 which the late Sir Stirling Moss successfully campaigned in successive Monte Carlo Rally’s from 1952-4.
The car is absolutely as good in the flesh as it looks in the pictures - in no small part due to a substantial £15k documented renovation undertaken between 2008/2011 by its former owner and the fact it has covered less than 1,000 dry miles since. The Cactus green paintwork is excellent as is the chrome work. The interior has been treated to fresh red carpets along with new door cards and headlining. The original leather faced seats have been kept as-is with an honest patina to them and are the only evidence of the vehicles age (oh and I should mention the front seats easily de-mount to use as comfortable picnic chairs - you should see the envious glances at Goodwood Revival!).
