Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (Daytona) Chassis number 16751. The 1973 London Motor Show car. Correct and original with all matching numbers and one of only 158 right hand cars built. Finished in original Rosso Chiaro with original Nero (black) leather interior and Rosso carpets
Although first registered in the UK in 1974, 16751 actually made its UK debut at the 1973 London Motor Show. The first registered owner was a Mr. Salamone of Blenheim Motors, London, who registered it on behalf of a client, due to an impending divorce settlement. The car was kept in London and driven sparingly at weekends until 1977 when matters were resolved and it was then registered to Paper UN Ltd.
In March 1986 after a road test and report by Maranello Concessionaires and with 24,778 recorded miles it was sold to Mr. Michael Fisher – a Ferrari specialist, who in July of that year sold the car on to a Mr. Braithwaite. Mr. Braithwaite had the car fitted with the larger 9inch rear wheels by Rardley Motors who also serviced the car.( 16751 is now fitted with Borrani wire spoke wheels) In 1988 Modena Engineering bought the car and in turn sold it onto to William Loughran, a well respected car specialist from Preston. The car was then sold five days later to AFS Consultancies of Lytham St Anne’s, who kept the car until 1992, when it was sold to Mr. Wilson of Glasgow. Maintained by Glenvarigill until 1996, it was then sold to Mr. Eberlain from Nuremberg, Germany, who kept the car in the UK, mainly on display at the Museum of Transport in Glasgow. In November 1997 due to ill health, Mr. Eberlain reluctantly let the car go. Bespoke Classics of Hertfordshire became the new owners. In June 1999 it was fitted with a new clutch and exhaust system and in July 1999 it was bought by Mr. Jenkinson of Hove, Sussex. In 2001, after ownership transferred to Mr. Wicks of Ealing, it was sent to J R Etheridge for a service at a recorded mileage of 47,126.
Having predominately been in dry storage from 2006 to 2012 it covered only 300 miles during that period. In 2012-2013 it was used on longer journeys abroad and proved to be an extremely reliable and efficient drive. In December of 2013 a complete health check, suspension and engine detailing and major service was carried out at Foskers workshops, the classic Ferrari specialists. The car was subsequently sold to the current owner who has kept the vehicle in a climate controlled environment and total mileage is now around 51,000 miles. There is full Ferrari Classiche certification for the vehicle.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of only a hundred and fifty eight UK right hand drive cars produced in the most desirable colour and interior colour. Although Unusual for Daytona’s, it is supplied with a documented history file, and retains its original handbook, parts book and leather wallet. It also retains its original tool case. With factory air-conditioning and the desirable Borrani wire wheels and the larger 9inch option on the rear. This is a car that must be seen to be fully appreciated, and has recently undergone a full service and health check.
